Lynk’s satellite based text-messaging service recently received FCC approval — they received approval before SpaceX.

Users in remote locations around the world will soon have the ability to send text-messages. This is a great win for humanity — hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis & other catastrophic natural events which historically may have shut down communication channels will change forever.

People will be able to get in touch w/ each other in desperate times, from anywhere on earth.

Lynk is currently testing the service in 10 countries. They have signed contracts with 15 different MNOs (mobile network operators) across 36 countries; a starting point of 240M+ users who will be offered the service.

Stay tuned for what happens next.

And SpaceX… they’re next.
